Methodological Toolkit for Language InstructorsTeaching Grades 1–6

On the website below, we would like to share a collection of ideas developed as part of a research project. This toolkit is based on the research findings and aims to support the work of language pedagogues. One of the focus areas of the Research Group’s activities was the use of digital tools in face-to-face teaching.

This guide is the result of the collaborative work of experts active in various theoretical and practical fields. It is grounded in general language pedagogy and provides examples drawn from the practice of teaching three foreign languages: German, English, and Slovak.

The goals of creating this methodological guide to support childhood language teaching with digital tools were:

  • to present teachers' experiences uncovered during the research,
  • to promote a shift in perspective toward digital lesson planning,
  • to broaden the use and ways of using digital teaching platforms in language education, and
  • to strengthen methodological practices in language teaching.

The guide presents online platforms and digital best practices, organizing them according to areas of language pedagogy and linking them to its core principles. Sample tasks are provided in English, German, and Slovak. The targeted student age group is 6–12 years.
