Hungarian as a Foreign Language

The members of the “Hungarian as a Foreign Language” group enjoyed two special programs over the past month that made language learning even more engaging.

On October 1, they visited Városliget (City Park) under the guidance of language teacher Gabriella Kiss, where they explored Heroes’ Square, Vajdahunyad Castle, and the memorial to the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. The program also included visits to the House of Hungarian Music and the new Museum of Ethnography.

On October 22, the group went on a trip to Gellért Hill. The walk began at the statue of Tamás Cseh, after which participants learned about the legend of Bishop Gellért, as well as the history of the Gellért Baths, the Citadel, and the Liberty Statue. The program concluded in the Garden of Philosophers.

These walks offered students an excellent opportunity to practice the Hungarian language, become more familiar with Hungarian culture, and form new friendships with one another.
